So I chose a third path.

Building an AI-Powered UX Audit Tool (In a Weekend)

I decided to prototype a solution:

Here’s what I used:

It didn’t replace human UX thinking.
But it did the repetitive, obvious, time-consuming parts of the audit—fast.

And just like that, the bottleneck disappeared.

The Results: 90% Time Saved, Higher Quality Shipped Faster

Once we integrated the AI audit into our pre-launch workflow, we saw immediate wins:

But… What About “Moving Fast”?

This is the pushback I often hear:

“We don’t have time for that.”

But here’s the truth:
Moving fast is only helpful when you’re moving in the right direction.

Otherwise, you’re just shipping faster into user frustration.

By automating the most repetitive parts of UX auditing, you don’t have to choose between:

  • Speed or quality
    You get both.

The trick is to design processes that scale, not slow.

How You Can Do This Too (No AI Degree Required)

You don’t need to be a machine learning engineer to start testing UX smarter.

Here’s how to begin:

Start with Nielsen’s heuristics + your own design system rules. Keep it simple and actionable.

2. Identify repetitive tasks

What takes the most time in your reviews? Is it spotting bad microcopy? Design system violations? Duplicate patterns?
